Abstract

ABSTRACT

                This book-study  is an analysis of the influence of Pali and Sanskrit on Thai language with is the main objectives are to study the history of Thai language,  the history Pali-Sanskrit in Thai language and to  comparative analyze  the influence of Pali and Sanskrit in Thai language. The methodologys used was a book research from  Buddhist Text such as: Tipitaka, Atthakatha, Anudhika, Dhammapadakatha, Buddhadamma, Visudhimagga, and Pali vocabulary –analysis.

                The result of this research is found that Thai language appears more prominent  in the principle as the parts of speech especially there are five tones of voice which make Thai language melodious and beautiful.

               Pali and Sanskrit   in Thai language were adapted to suit  the principle oof Thai language by Thai scholars, such as the  pronunciation-cutting, pronunciation-adding, the mutation of the meaning wich add to the beauty of Thai language. The comparison study  of the influence of Pali-Sanskrit  in various brunches that are important to the Thai society,such as the  religion and ceremonies, royal words, and general knowledge includes the issues of spelling, pronunciations and  the significance of Buddhist scriptures.

                Recommendations:

                1.we should publicize the characteristics of  Pali to general public so that they will be aware that it was  the language wich  lord Buddha used for preaching to propagate the Buddhism.

                2.The  curriculum of Pali&Sanakrit should be arranged by government or religious organization for the students in school upon the university.
