Abstract

This  research is  of  3  objectives,  namely  :- (1) to study  the Causes  for being Devatās (2)  to  study  the Causes for being Human beings (3) to  Comparatively  study  the  Causes for being Devatās and Human beings in  Kāmāvacarabhũmi .

From the study,  it is found that :-   Devatās are the groups  of  Gods.  They are the members of heaven deities who are entertained with 5 Kāmāguõas by their supernatural powers.  Devatās  live in Deloka and were born to be Opapātikas. Kāmāvacarabhũmis or the heavens of 6 levels are the locations of Kāmāvacarabhũmi Devatās. They live more highly than the Earth. The causes for being Devatās are Dāna Pariccāga, the observation of 5 Sãlas and 8 Sãlas and the wish for being Devatās in Kāmāvacarabhũmi.

The human beings in Buddhism are the persons who have high-minds and Manussadhamma, and they can also develop themselves.  In 4 Origins, the Human beings are born in Jalābujas, those who were born from the womb.  The development of the human lives said by the Buddha is entirely agreed by Doctors in the present time.

The turning to be reborn in humanhood is very  difficult. The causes for being human beings are to refrain from all Pāpas and to behave the good conducts with Kāya, Vācā and Citta.  When they observe Puññakiriyāvatthus :-  Dāna,  Sãlas, but without Bhāvanā, it is the cause for being human beings.

The  comparative study of causes for being Devatās and human beings  in  Kāmāvacarabhũmi on  the  same  side  is  that :- The  Cuti  of  Devatā  is the same as  the  human death. Devatās  have  the  bodies  composed  of  Mahābhũtarũpas  and  Viññāna like human beings.  They also have Dukkha and Sukha.  Kāmāvacarabhũmi Devatās  have conducts in  sensual-desire like the  human  beings.

The different sides are :-  The human  beings are born  in  Jalābuja,  those born from  the womb;  but  Devatās are born  to  be  Opapātikas and they have divine ages,  castes,  Sukhas,  Yasas,  Adhipateyyas,  Rũpas,  Voices,  Smells,  Tastes and  Phoññhabba  and  they  also have supernatural powers.  The  human beings  are of  more bravery in senses  and  restraints,  and they also observe  Brahmacariya  in  the principles of  Ariyamagga Devatā’s  conditions  are  of  Gahaññhas. They cannot obtain the monkhood and they have the  limitations of  knowledge.

The  human beings are  better than Devatās.  That is to say,  the human beings  have  more  Guõadhammas than  Devatās.   The noble monk  is  the human  being  who  is  greater  than  Devatā,  and  the  human  beings  can  practise  the  Dhamma  for  extinguishing  the  Dukkha. Kāmāvacarabhũmi  of all  classes  in heaven  still have  Kilesas. They  are  all  in Vaññasaÿsāra,  because  Kilesas  are  the causes  of  the  cycles  of  rebirth  in  the  same way  as  the  case of  the  worldly  persons.
