Abstract

               The main objectives of this research are: 1) to study the level of opinions of    the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province, 2) to compare the level of opinions of the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province, and 3) to suggest the guideline to the level of opinions of the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province. The research methodology is the Survey Research. The sample of this study consisted of 400 respondents living in  Samutsongkram Province. The tool employed for collecting data is the questionnaire which divided into 3 parts. Part 1 is the general personnel data of the people who answer the questionnaires.  Part 2 is the questionnaire about the opinions of the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province. Part 3 is the questionnaire about the problems , obstacles and suggestions of the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province. The data analysis were used by frequencies, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, one way analysis of variance and compare the least significant difference : LSD.

The results of this research found that  :     

               1. The overall opinions of the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province were found  at the middle level (X =3.33). When  taken into consideration in each aspect, it was  found at a good level in the mental development aspect (X = 3.88), and noted at average level in social education (X= 3.41), Buddhist Propagation  (X= 3.27), Public Welfare (X= 3.17) and Arts and Culture (X= 2.95), respectively.

    2. With regard to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province, classified by the general personal status, it was noticed that age of people  was found statistically significant different at .05 level, so the relevant hypothesis set forth could be accepted.  However,  sex, level of education, and occupation found no significant difference, thus the relevant hypotheses formulated could be rejected.

               3. The problems , obstacles and suggestions of the people to the level of opinions of the people to the Leadership in Community Development of Sangha administrators in Samutsongkram Province are found that the majority of Sangha administrators give the importance to the community development  at the middle level and passive strategy of works including  no expanding to community. The monks do not have the good relationship with the community surrounding the temple area that  makes the work inefficiently. They also do not have the policy and good plan and good directions for the work. They do not have the network to work together. It is more important that there is lack of efficient staff to work and solve the problems of the community, causing problems  such as the mental development, welfare education side, Buddhist propagation, Arts and Culture for people in the community.

               Therefore, the suggestions to develop the Sangha administrators in Samut-songkram Province were noticed that the real leaders of the community must give the importance to develop the community especially in the areas of Sangha administrators‘  management. Sangha administrators should also work in the active strategy by expanding the working areas to the community and let them know the information. They should take and solve the community problems seriously and have the good relationship with the community. They should have good leadership for the efficient work and have the good policy to develop the community permanently and work with the network in Samutsongkram province. The more importance is to support the monks and lay people to be qualified and efficient for carrying out community to develop efficiently for  the sake of prosperity of people in the future.
