Abstract

The objectives of this study were Research: 1. To study Management of The Five Precepts Observing Village  Project of Sangha Administrators at Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province 2. To compare monks’ opinions  towards management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of Sangha Administrators at Bangplama District, Suphanburi Provinceby lassified by personal status and 3. To study Problems, obstacles and  recommendations about management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of  Sangha Administrators at  Bangplama District,  Suphanburi Province

                 Methodology was the mixed methods Research: The quantitative research applying  survey method collected data from 251 samples who were Buddhist monks at Bangplama District using questionnaires with the confidence value at 0.725. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics; frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, F-test,  one-way analysis of variance, ANOVA. The qualitative research collected data from 10 key informants with in-depth-interviewing and analyzed data by descriptive interpretation

 

 

Findings of the research  were as follows:

                 1. Monks by overall, had opinions towards  the management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of SanghaAdministrators at Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province at high level ( =3.67, S.D. =0.617) Each aspect was also at high level namely; Planning Organizing Staffing Directing Controlling. Monks had opinions towards management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of Sangha Administrators at  Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province at  high levels in all these aspects,    

                 2. The comparison of the opinions of the monks towards  management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of Sangha Administrators at Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province by classified by personal status, it was found that monks with different  ordained age, levels of education, Dharma and Pali education, formal educational levels and current Positions had different opinions towards the management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of Sangha Administrators at Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province at statistical significant level of 0.05, accepting set hypothesis. While monks with different age did not have different opinions towards the management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of Sangha Administrators at  Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province, herefore, rejecting the set hypothesis.

                 3. Problems and obstacles of management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village  Project of SanghaAdministrators Bangplama District Suphanburi Provincefound The Sangha Administrators Bangplama District lacked understanding of objectives and procedures for project implementation. District Sangha Administrators do not clearly empower authority, do not select people with knowledge suitable for the position of responsibility do not evaluate the performance of personnel Therefore, the project lacked  skilled and knowledgeable personnel who are compatible with the work of the project, do not motivate monks to be pleased with the project  performance.  Liaison between government and private sector and the public is delayed.  And visiting, monitoring and  evaluating  the project's performance were not carried out in the proper timeframe. 
                 Recommendations for the management of The Five Precepts Observing  Village Project of Sangha Administrators at Bangplama District, Suphanburi Province are that  Sangha Administrators should study to understand the objectives and procedures of the project. District Sangha Administrators need to give out orders clearly  with decentralized authority. Organize training and recruit people with knowledge suitable for the position of responsibility. Evaluate the performance of personnel Motivate monks to be pleased with the project's performance Modern technology should be used to coordinate between government, private and public sectors. Project inspection and site  visits to follow up the evaluate  the project's performance  at the specified period of time. 
                 The findings from in-depth interviews revealed that Sangha Administrators at Bangplama District undertake the project by promoting knowledge and understanding  that will benefit the nation.  create a public relations sign, campaign to invite people in the village at the monasteries entrances to encourage community to have good relations with governmanet agencies and Sangha Order. Find strengths and benefits or values ​​from this project and offer them to be accepted. Have the knowledge and knowledge in line with the ability to develop themselves by seeking new knowledge and techniques The campaign to  invites people to see the value of keeping the sacraments important to life Organize volunteer activities to create a harmonious society with benefits for themselves  and for a peaceful society. Establish community centers at the village or community. Village or community leaders should  support the project implementation in terms of manpower, food and water, help  oversee the project with full force and capability.
