Abstract

The thesis on “The Guideline for House-Life Happiness in Ban Sichava, Phathairin Sub – District, Lamplaimas District, Buriram Province” have three objectives : 1) to study of house-life happiness in Theravada Buddhism, 2) to study of state of house-life happiness of Ban Sichava, Phathairin sub-district, Lamplaimas district, Buriram province, 3) to study of guideline in promotion of happiness according to house-life happiness of Ban Sichava, Phathairin sub-district, Lamplaimas district, Buriram province. This is qualitative research which analyzing the datum in Tipitaka, academic documentary on Buddhism and concerning research. This is field-research and present the result of research by descriptive analysis.

Gihisukkha is the happiness of the householder. There are four kinds of happiness: (1) Atthisukkha: happiness resulting from economic security,                   (2) Bhogasukha : happiness resulting from enjoyment of wealth, (3) Ananasukha : happiness on account of freedom from dept., (4) Anavajjasukha : happiness on account of leading a faultless working.

This is the state of happiness according to the Gihisukkha of Ban Sichawa, Phattharin sub-district, Lamplaimas district, Buriram province. The happiness that comes from having the wealth of the villagers in Ban Sichava origins with the diligence. Happiness caused by spending money with intelligence or knowledge, knowing the plan to divide the property for the stability of the family into 3 parts: the first part or 25% of property is used for self-care and raising people who should nourish, (2) to spend property approximately 50% for investment in a professional business, so the existing assets have increased and (3) the last part or about 25% keep it in the necessary time. The happiness resulting from indebtedness by take a righteous profession, then brought to be diluted and shared with friends and family by mutual understanding and sympathy.

      The guidelines for the promotion of happiness according to the Gihisukkha of Ban Sichava, Phathairin sub-district, Lamplaimas district, Buriram province is a way to convey ideas, knowledge, and understanding of working methods by using of training and activities to follow the principles of Buddhism. The people meditate and pay respect to the Buddha, pray daily in morning and evening. The people follow the philosophy of sufficiency economy in accordance with the royal initiative of King Rama IX. The people have faith and feelings according to the Four Noble Truths, with sincerity, giving of love and gratitude. There are training by religious person who guide to lead the life with staff and related people, such as family, community by four Garavasadhamma, six Saraniyadhamma and four Sangahavatthu. The training used the method of helping, telling, teaching friends and doing activities together using the five precepts and five virtues, loving kindness, four Brahmavihara, four Bhavana, four Garavasadhamma, six Saraniyadhamma, and four Sangahavatthu to manage the environment of the village to be drug-free, and to be the place of generosity. The people use moral principles to guide life.
